Auto-trading at Online Brokerages

Can anyone recommend a good option or levered stock strategy that can be auto-traded? I have a taxable account at TD Ameritrade, which does trades for 20 or so newsletter services. I would be willing to open account elsewhere for a high Sharpe Ratio trader whose service can be auto-traded with an online broker. Please direct me to any online resources that have more reviews on the subject. Many of the sites I found focus on educational services and not newsletter subscriptions that can be auto-traded. Thank you for any and all responses.

Hi Jeff,

I am using Interactive Brokers and using matlab as the main language for backtesting and setup automation. I wonder do you yourself have a good trading model that require just the interfacing part or you are looking for someone that already have a good tested model and get him to manage your account?

For anyone interested in the Matlab / Interactive Brokers (IB) path (as Ariel Silahian and Hock Tong Koh above have suggested), you can use the IB-Matlab connector to facilitate the connection between IB and Matlab: http://undocumentedmatlab.com/ib-matlab

There is also the MathWorks Trading Toolbox alternative, but IB-Matlab is superior in all functional aspects, as well as much cheaper.

I agree with Yair that the Matlab + IB combination is a good one, especially to start with.

You don't state how advanced your programming skills are. There are quite a lot of black box strategies out there. It's always a good idea to backtest the strategies yourself.

If you're interested, a friend of mine provides automated quantitative strategies to institutional investors, that can readily be implemented with execution engines. I will ask him if he does this for private individuals, too.

I assume that Jeff is looking for something different than a platform to create and trade his own systems. As I understand him, he is looking for a way to trade signals coming from somewhere else. That's why I recommended social trading platforms (rather new), where more or less experienced traders (there are track records available) trade their money and others can simply copy their strategy by following their strategy with some own money.

Here's an overview:
