market research for new algorithmic trading platform

I am doing some market research for my new algorithmic trading platform. I approached it as an engineer trying to include features I found lacking in other platforms, but now see the need to segment for marketing purposes. May I ask you some questions about 1) what softwares systems you currently use for running algos? 2) What are things you like most with those? 3) What are some pain points? 4) Would you switch for better features (why? What features?) 5) Are you a professional trader (main source of income from trading or manage trading for others)? 6) what markets do you trade? 7) what trading style / types of models you trade? I appreciate the time you take in your reply. If you would like to be added to our email list for news on developments please send an email to contact@PeoplesFinTech.com Best Regards, Ron

there already exist platforms that will absolutely do anything you would ever want. there is nothing it can not do and actually comes with it's own profitable money management company. but other than spending 100mm to buy it AmiBroker and MultiCharts is pretty darn good - I also use them both, you would be hard pressed to create something better from scratch and 10 years of your life to beta.

Answers to the questions in proper hierarchy

1.) Software used - Amibroker , Multicharts , Excel , Greek-Soft( for Fno).

2.) Ability to create , backtest and deploy both

technical/fundamental/correlation/statistical strategies.

3.) More open-ended ( code examples , forums for beginners and experts to interact

likewise . Ability to blend technical and fundamental analysis together to create a

mixture of the two worlds

4.) Yes , probably if features like Better pre-post trade analytics , ability to handle large

volume of data at ease(especially while trading live) , multi-broker support and easy to enhance and develop API to connect to different brokers and data feed. Easy integration with statistical languanges like Python , R , Mat Lab. Low-latency executions etc. Timely updates and bug fixes.

5.) Professional Trader.

6.) Indian , US , FX - Cash and Derivatives.

7.) Technical , fundamental , vol-targeted , rotational (momentum) , correlation analysis.
